Our Connection to Anansi

Malika (Osheyo Amazi) grew up on Anansi the Spider folktales. Sourced from the Ashanti Akan in Ghana, the Anansi stories are one of the few vestiges of African culture that managed to remain intact through the Middle Passage.

With close to a decade of experience leading walking tours in New Orleans, it is our pleasure to serve as this generations’ griots. The art of storytelling goes beyond scene, plot and characters~especially in New Orleans. You can feel the stories in the humidity, weighing down the air of the city. Sharing them with others is how we keep breathing.

We absolutely love what we do, and we can’t wait to take you around the nation’s most haunted, whimsical, artistic, musical and colorful city.
